When
As a member, you are invited to a free guided tour of the exhibition The Purpose of a System is What it Does – the most extensive museum presentation of Gardar Eide Einarsson’s artistic practice to date. The tour offers a closer look at Einarsson’s practice, which for more than 25 years has explored themes such as oppression, state violence, propaganda and power. The exhibition brings together key works in a range of media, including sculpture, video, works on paper and painting.
Curator Synnøve Marie Vik will guide you through the exhibition, offering deeper insight into Einarsson’s artistic practice, the works, and how they can be understood in the context of our present time. You will hear stories, perspectives and reflections that offer a richer understanding of Einarsson’s practice and his place within Nordic contemporary art.
In this intimate setting, members will have time to ask questions and experience the works up close, away from the usual flow of visitors. A unique opportunity to experience the exhibition in a more personal and exclusive setting – for members only (guests are not included).
Tuesday 3 October, 10:00–11:00 at Stenersen
