A Sunday trip to Sæverud's enchanted paradise!

The big family day at Sæverud's unique property has become a cherished and popular tradition during the Bergen International Festival.

The stage is set for beautiful, strange and exciting experiences for children of all ages, both indoors and outdoors in the large area surrounding the house.

Inside the house, there will be guided tours and musical adventures with pianist Rune Alver. Along the adventure trail outside, are several activities, wondrous impressions, curiosities and a sound forest. It is also rumoured that Nøkken still lives in the lake...

As a 14-year-old boy, I heard the invisible screeches of owls in the summer night. This was the origin of my music.

Harald Sæverud

Sæverud said that his music came from the earth, and at Siljustøl, you can wander around the surroundings that inspired him. Perhaps you will see a particularly curious owl? The composer was convinced that after his death, he would still live at Siljustøl – as an owl.
