Agathe Backer Grøndahl was a Norwegian pianist and composer. She is considered one of Norway's foremost composers of romances alongside Halfdan Kjerulf and Edvard Grieg.

In addition to 250 romances, she has composed around 150 piano pieces. Her music is characterized by lyrical warmth, great charm and a captivating melancholy.

At this concert, we get to know Grøndahl's music and her as a person. Pianist and director of the composer's homes Christian Grøvlen performs and narrates.
