Edvard Grieg’s music takes on an entirely new depth when you experience it in the very place where it was composed. A concert at his home Troldhaugen makes it even clearer why this setting still feels like a key to understanding – and coming closer to – his music

In these concerts, young award‑winning pianists perform and share their personal favourites from Edvard Grieg’s piano music.

The concerts take place in Troldsalen, our chamber music hall offering what may be the finest view in Bergen: the idyllic Lake Nordåsvannet and Grieg’s own composer’s hut, where several of Norway’s greatest musical treasures were created.

The concert lasts 30 minutes.

Please Note: The ticket includes museum admission. Troldhaugen’s villa is closed for necessary rehabilitation work. The exhibition, concert hall, café, and outdoor areas are open.

Bus between Rasmus Meyer and Troldhaugen

From Tuesday to Sunday, between 9 June and 30 August, a bus service runs between the Rasmus Meyer building in the city centre and Troldhaugen.

All-in-one ticket with bus, concert and admission

The ticket is ideal for anyone who wants an easy journey from the city centre to Troldhaugen, to experience a concert in Troldsalen, and return to the Rasmus Meyer building afterwards.

For the concert at 12:00, the bus departs from the Rasmus Meyer building at 10:30. Return from Troldhaugen is at 13:00.

For the concert at 14:00, the bus departs from the Rasmus Meyer building at 12:30. Return from Troldhaugen is at 15:00.

The all-in-one ticket includes admission to Kode, a concert at Troldhaugen and bus transport to and from Troldhaugen.

Regular bus ticket

You can also buy a regular bus ticket between the Rasmus Meyer building and Troldhaugen. A regular bus ticket costs NOK 80 one way.

From the Rasmus Meyer building to Troldhaugen, the bus departs at 11:30, 13:30 and 14:30.

From Troldhaugen to the Rasmus Meyer building, the bus departs at 11:00, 12:00 and 14:00.

Departure from the city centre is outside the Rasmus Meyer building. Departure from Troldhaugen is from the public car park, approximately 5 to 10 minutes’ walk from Troldhaugen.
